Mission & Vision
Med Life Plus is an international non-profit organization that delivers emergency medical kits to and hosts kit-training sessions for underprivileged communities in need. Our main sites include homeless shelters, senior living centers, day worker centers, and other impoverished or vulnerable communities.
Access to emergency medical kits can save lives in on-site emergencies. Through fundraisers and drives, we aim to become the bridge between the individuals and their need for the medical equipment. By providing affordable healthcare supplies, we are addressing the healthcare gaps prevalent in our world today.
History
While volunteering at programs at the local Sunday Friends, Snikitha realized that families lacked medical supplies at home because they often requested first-aid kits from the organization. The Med Life Plus initiative was established to supply these first-aid kits.
As she began to volunteer at other organizations and learn more about the needs of underserved individuals, she began talking to local fire departments about a lack of a patient's medical information in an emergency. She expanded Med Life Plus's efforts to providing portable medical information kits.
Combining her passion for teaching and serving others, Snikitha, has tutored
middle and high school students since the June of 2019 to raise funds for the organization. Med Life Plus now serves international organizations and works with other countries to enable accessible healthcare opportunities for everyone.
Letter from Founder
It was shocking to see how many underprivileged communities, despite living in the Silicon Valley, do not have access to affordable healthcare or healthcare supplies. In any emergency, my parents and teachers always seemed to be ready to treat me with the medical equipment they had on hand. After volunteering at organizations where access to these medical supplies was lacking, I decided to establish Med Life Plus in order to be able to serve these underprivileged communities.
Homeless shelters, senior living centers, and day worker centers are our main contacts. Med Life Plus has helped nearly 15,000 individuals since its inception, and the work it does would not be possible without the organizations or volunteers that dedicate their time to working with Med Life Plus.
